The BERA Guides to Educational Research and Practice series publishes short, research-informed yet accessible introductions to key, interdisciplinary topics impacting education research and practice. Books in the series offer a summary of the research on the topic, charting how the scholarly thought and practice on the issue has evolved over time, and offer key takeaways and suggestions for research and practice. With books in the series viewed as research and practice ‘primers’ on each topic, the series is for use by a broad academic audience, including early career and established researchers, postgraduate students, as well as practitioners where appropriate.
