abstract = {Defining digital entrepreneurship and its core competencies is a complex matter owing to the social or business context in which it can be situated. Therefore, there is no single concept. In this context, the objective of this chapter was to determine whether the opportunity identification competency is influenced by action planning and implementation and collaboration competencies among young Gen Z Mexican university students, considering these as transversal skills and abilities in the digital entrepreneurship competency. A quantitative and deductive approach was developed; data collection was conducted through a survey in July and August 2023. A structural equation model was used to examine the relationships and verify the research hypotheses. The results are discussed, and the conclusion is primarily that the competencies analysed contribute to an understanding of the digital entrepreneurial profile. They highlight the importance of strengthening them in supporting entrepreneurship and preventing future trends in the business and technological fields.},
